GRIT Peer Mentorship Program
The first year of graduate school often involves difficult decisions and unclear or unspoken requirements that assume familiarity with the academic institution; the Peer Mentoring Program is intended to lower these barriers to student success by providing space for current students to share advice and personal experiences with the incoming class, as well as to provide an additional avenue for students to meet and make connections to others in their departments. Mentees and mentors are paired based on interests and given weekly conversation topics for discussion, as well as invited to occasional social events with everyone in the program.
